Meet the Secretariat
Dear delegates, advisors, and parents,
Welcome to MIMUN XIII. My name is Chaerin Park, a senior at Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies, and I will be serving as your Secretary-General for this year’s session of MIMUN.
Over the past few decades, more than 1 billion people have been lifted out of extreme poverty, attributing to major gains in health, education, and the establishment of peace. We are excited about the progress we see happening in the world today and are confident our efforts will continue to pay off in the years to come. Yet, the recent pandemic situation has testified to the widening inequalities, heightening climate risks, and persisting forms of discrimination in our societies. We now have learned the importance of safeguarding our development gains, as well as the value of resilience in offering a new lens to our development challenges. By embedding resilience, we envision a better tomorrow through capacity building, integral development, and adaptation.
Our next step starts now, here at MIMUN XIII. Delving into overwhelming issues of global society, voicing out opinions as the world’s proud youths, and collaborating to path comprehensive solutions, delegates will find themselves immersed in the challenges we have yet to overcome. We will, in this journey, help realize your potential to inspire change and establish resilient communities.
I am honored to continue with the tradition of MIMUN, a conference that often marks many as their first and most memorable experience with Model UN. As Secretary-General, I look forward to welcoming you all this August, and to hearing your creative solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.
Please check out our Facebook page for new updates before and during the conference. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.
Yours truly,
Chaerin Park

Greetings delegates!
I am Chaeyoon Park, currently a senior at Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies (HAFS). It is a great honor to serve as a Deputy Secretariat General for this year's MIMUN. Since my first experience of the Model United Nations conference was in MIMUN 3 years ago, it seems that my every understanding of international relationships and enhancement of public speaking skills have started from this convention. I still remember how I was so nervous at the beginning of the conference, meeting delegates face to face, thus discuss with strangers. But I also remember that it was such a fruitful experience to learn how to share my opinions, solve complicated international issues within the rules, and finally complete a well-drafted resolution.
I sincerely welcome every delegate to MIMUN and wish to grant you a meaningful experience as I did. Join us, and let's make new memories in MIMUN XIII!
